As artists, we spend a majority of our time creating content for our fans to enjoy. It’s quite a process to make these videos that we love so much. Music and entertainment has become free and it’s a daily struggle as an artist, to generate income for pursuing our passions. I’ve been so excited to release this! It took a little longer than I thought it would, but I’ve spent the last few weeks visiting with family. I was able to put the final touches on it when we arrived in Seattle.
It took two days of finding the right camera angles and playing with my lights. I used a three light soft box system from LimoStudio. I also recorded the audio at the same time I shot video. It seems to be easier for me this way, and it has that real live feel to it! I use five GoPro Hero Silver cameras to get all of the angles. I love that they all record at once when using the remote. My drum kit is a Roland V-Drum TD30-KV, I love it! I record the midi into Logic X and use software for the sounds.
Mix and Edit
I took two passes at it and ended up using the second take. Edited and mixed the audio first, then dumped it into Final Cut Pro with the video. I edited the live footage first, and then added the official video footage in second. I loved the original music video and wanted to incorporate it into the drum cover. There are tons of people doing drum covers, but I wanted to try something different. Guess I’m just bored with only watching me play, lol.
Well hope you enjoyed, and check back here as I have many more to come!
